About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the HR team of a mission-based nonprofit organization. This position is a contract role lasting approximately 4-5 months, based in Washington DC, with a pay rate of $30-35 per hour. The specialist will be responsible for managing the full cycle of recruiting, which includes collaborating closely with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and developing tailored hiring strategies for each role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume recruiting and will be adept at sourcing hard-to-find passive talent through various niche sites and social media platforms, including LinkedIn. In addition to sourcing candidates, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will need to possess a working knowledge of compensation strategies to determine appropriate salary offers for potential hires. The role also involves resolving any issues that may arise during the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization. Building and maintaining professional relationships with existing employees is also a key aspect of this position, as it fosters a positive work environment and enhances the overall recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with hiring managers to determine recruitment needs and develop a hiring strategy for each role.
  • Identify, attract, and source hard-to-find passive talent using different niche sites/channels such as LinkedIn and other social media.
  • Possess working knowledge of compensation skills to determine an appropriate salary.
  • Resolve any issues and barriers associated with facilitating the seamless onboarding for new employees.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with existing employees.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full cycle recruiting experience
  • High-volume recruiting experience
  • Proficient in ATS/HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and dependable
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
