About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Tecolote Research, Inc. is responsible for recruiting talent for the AMCD division. This role involves understanding organizational needs, sourcing candidates, and managing the hiring process to ensure the right fit for the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recruitment, particularly in the space and government contracting sectors, and will be passionate about helping individuals develop successful careers.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates and advising managers.
  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives and meeting with managers to discuss needs.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; and maintaining rapport.
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and discussing with management and job qualifications.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, using newsgroups and job sites.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by phone screening applicants, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules.
  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers and interviewing applicants on a consistent set of qualifications.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring compensation practices; and emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation and enforcing regulations with managers.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Supports day-to-day delivery of other HR services and special projects, as needed.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of recruiting experience required.
  • Experience with full life cycle recruiting; space and/or government contracting experience preferred.
  • Experience using various recruiting tools; LinkedIn Recruiter, Glassdoor, Indeed preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in all aspects of recruiting including networking, creative sourcing strategies, and hiring.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills a must.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality in dealing with a variety of complex and potentially sensitive projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: MS Office, especially Excel.
  • US citizenship is required.
