About the position

M & M Staffing Agency is seeking a driven individual with a passion for new challenges, who excels in a fast-paced environment, to assist the human resources department at the City Colleges of Chicago. The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor and expertise in Talent Acquisition. This role involves partnering with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand talent needs and expectations, and creating recruitment strategies to fill vacant positions. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will coordinate and lead recruitment strategies for vacancies, including critical and hard-to-fill positions. The specialist will work closely with HR and hiring managers to develop concise and accurate job postings, identify critical success factors for positions, and create compelling job profiles. Sourcing candidates effectively is a key responsibility, utilizing various methods such as internal advertising, LinkedIn, databases, job boards, advertisements, social media, networking, and other advertising strategies. The role also includes screening, interviewing, and recommending internal and external candidates for all levels of jobs, including professional, management, technical, and faculty positions. Additionally, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will coach and provide guidance to hiring managers throughout the search and selection process, including how to conduct interviews and evaluate candidates. Serving as a liaison and consultant to District and college senior leaders, HR staff, and outside agencies regarding CCC's recruitment programs is also a critical aspect of this position. The specialist will utilize the Taleo applicant tracking and onboarding system to manage the requisition and hiring process, ensuring a smooth recruitment process by coordinating with hiring managers, participating in screening resumes and applications, scheduling interviews, making candidate selections, and initiating the offer and onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand talent needs and expectations, and create recruitment strategies to fill vacant positions.
  • Coordinate and lead recruitment strategies for vacancies including critical, hard-to-fill positions.
  • Work with HR and hiring managers to develop concise, accurate job postings, critical success factors for positions, and compelling job profiles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in a strategic recruiting role with an emphasis on recruitment, employment services or talent acquisition administration.
  • Experience in Human Resources or customer service preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP desirable.
  • Experience working within a higher education and/or public sector employer desirable.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering against recruiting targets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and success in executing full-cycle recruiting process.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicant tracking and onboarding systems.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations relating to employment.
  • Knowledge of best practices and current trends in talent acquisition.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Highly developed interviewing skills.
  • Ability to express complex information in a clear, concise and understandable fashion.
  • Ability to implement industry best practices and advise senior leadership to affect operational and cultural change.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay of $16 - $20.
