About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Durex Industries is a pivotal role that requires a detail-oriented, forward-thinking individual capable of working independently while upholding the highest levels of integrity. This position is responsible for the entire recruitment process, which includes sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees, all while aligning with the long-term goals of the organization. The specialist will also maintain essential logs such as the affirmative action applicant log and the open job and interview log, while fostering relationships with various recruitment organizations to enhance the talent pipeline. In this role, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will focus on sourcing candidates for hourly, non-exempt positions and will be responsible for maintaining a talent pipeline for various roles throughout the plant. The specialist will develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process, including conducting pre-screen phone interviews and scheduling interviews with hiring managers for candidates who pass the initial screening. Coordination throughout the hiring process is crucial, as the specialist will extend offers to selected candidates and communicate regrets to those not chosen. Collaboration with hiring managers is essential for creating requisitions, updating job descriptions, and keeping all parties informed about the status of candidates. The specialist will also own the onboarding process for hourly employees, working closely with other HR team members to ensure a smooth transition for new hires. Building relationships with local organizations, trade schools, colleges, veteran's groups, and diversity sources will be a key part of supporting the talent pipeline. The specialist will actively participate in job fairs and maintain records of candidates and hires from these events for evaluation purposes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining budget information for ad placements and job fairs, as well as the affirmative action applicant log for annual filing. The specialist will confer with the Human Resource Manager on compliance issues and policy violations, and will work both independently and as part of a team on special projects and assignments that support company-wide initiatives. The position requires a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, demonstrating poise, tact, and diplomacy at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for talent sourcing of hourly, non-exempt positions and maintaining a talent pipeline for roles throughout the plant.
  • Develops, facilitates and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Conduct pre-screen phone interviews of candidates; schedule interviews with hiring managers for candidates who pass the phone screen.
  • Coordinate candidates throughout the hiring process and extend offers to final candidates and regrets to candidates not selected.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to create requisitions, update job descriptions, and keep them informed on candidate status.
  • Maintain open position and interview spreadsheets.
  • Own the onboarding process for hourly employees, partnering with other HR team members for coordination.
  • Build relationships with local organizations, trade schools, colleges, veteran's groups, and diversity sources to support the talent pipeline.
  • Source candidates through online job boards, diversity sources, and local organizations.
  • Actively participate in job fairs in the local market and at colleges, maintaining a calendar for job fairs and tracking records of candidates/hires.
  • Maintain budget information for ad placement and job fair costs.
  • Maintain affirmative action applicant log for annual filing and develop relationships with diversity sources.
  • Notify diversity sources for goals identified in the annual affirmative action plan.
  • Confer with Human Resource Manager on compliance issues and policy violations.
  • Work individually and as part of a team on special projects and assignments for company-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable years of experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working in talent acquisition/recruiting.
  • Bilingual (Spanish).
  • Previous recruitment experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment, including maintaining highly confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to complete assigned tasks; results-driven.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office; MS Dynamics is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional business environment.
