About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and recommending qualified candidates for both permanent and temporary positions within the organization. This role involves collaborating with hiring managers to understand departmental needs, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and maintaining accurate records of recruitment activities. The position is hybrid and focuses on delivering timely and cost-effective hiring solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Source, interview, and recommend qualified candidates for permanent and temporary positions.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to understand departmental needs and candidate qualifications.
  • Ensure adherence to CBA policies and procedures for internal promotions and transfers.
  • Record all recruitment and hiring activity in the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Provide regular updates on position status to Hiring Managers, agencies, and job candidates.
  • Schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and extend job offers.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, Business Administration, or relevant major required.
  • Minimum two (2) years recruiting experience, including sourcing, interviewing, and assessing job applicants required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques and effective sourcing strategies.
  • Experience working in a Human Resources department; experience in a Union environment is a plus.
  • Ability to develop and cultivate effective working relationships with staff, Hiring Managers, and outside vendors.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (i.e., Taleo) highly preferred.
  • Professional appearance and excellent oral/written communication skills are essential.
  • Good critical thinking capabilities and ability to perform complex analysis and identify trends.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience recruiting temporary and seasonal positions is highly preferred.
