About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract, assess, and hire top talent for various positions within a manufacturing plant. This role requires expertise in hiring for technical, operational, and managerial roles, along with a strong understanding of labor market trends and compliance with recruitment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting to onboarding.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand hiring needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Source candidates through multiple channels (online job boards, employee referrals, recruitment agencies, social media, etc.).
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of skilled candidates for future staffing needs.
  • Participate in job fairs and career events, particularly those focused on manufacturing skills.
  • Assist in workforce planning and forecasting, collaborating with department managers to anticipate future hiring needs.
  • Use market data and analytics to make informed hiring decisions and recommend improvements to the recruitment process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, with a strong focus on the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to source, screen, and hire candidates for various manufacturing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment platforms.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume hiring environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience in hiring skilled trades (e.g., machinists, welders, electricians) and technical roles (e.g., engineers, technicians).
  • Familiarity with recruitment software and tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other job boards.
  • Understanding of technical job requirements in a manufacturing setting.
