About the position

Western Forest Products is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist at our Columbia Vista Operations in Vancouver, WA. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will partner with hiring managers to anticipate and meet the evolving recruitment needs of the organization. Reporting to the Team Lead, Talent Acquisition, you are responsible for full cycle recruitment for all US hourly and salaried positions, backup support for the Canadian talent acquisition team, and will take the lead on talent acquisition projects and process improvement initiatives in the US. The ideal candidate has at least 3-5 years' experience working in a Talent Acquisition role. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can handle a high volume of requisitions while maintaining timely, professional, and friendly service to both our hiring managers and candidates. Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to manage the full cycle of the recruitment process by the identification, engagement, screening, and hiring of talent to fulfill the needs of the business.
  • Source and prospect talent in innovative ways for niche talent that are aligned with strategic priorities across the business, working closely with our communications department on creative advertising strategies.
  • Screen and assess candidates to ensure that they possess the right skills, competencies and behaviours and cultural fit for WFP.
  • Participate at industry specific recruitment fairs, promoting the WFP brand to prospective talent.
  • Partner with post-secondary institutions, educational programs, and professional associations to promote Western Forest Products' career opportunities.
  • Educate, advise and provide direction to hiring managers on the best practice talent acquisition sourcing channels, selection methodologies and share market intelligence.
  • Ensure compliance and appropriate documentation, including offer letters and record keeping for all hiring activities and help to identify and drive process improvements.
  • Present monthly and quarterly reports to hiring managers on sourcing activity and progress against recruitment plans.
  • Participate in Talent projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Backup support for Canadian Talent Acquisition Specialists.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of proven and successful full-cycle talent acquisition experience.
  • Experience working with sourcing tools and ATS system (ADP an asset).
  • Experience in full cycle recruitment.
  • Experience recruiting trades or labour positions considered an asset.
  • Experience in conducting behavioural based interviews.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and capability to build and deliver Customer Focused solutions.
  • Collaborative team partner that values fun and team connectiveness.
  • Embraces culture of continuous improvement by demonstrating receptivity and embracing value of feedback from the HR team, operations and leadership.
  • Evidence of delivery and execution with pace and high-quality output.
  • Evidence of expertise and use of various social media channels.
