About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) at The Arc of the Ozarks is a vital role responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of employees, ensuring alignment with the organization's long-term goals. This exempt, salaried position requires a skilled professional who is knowledgeable in effective recruiting techniques and adheres to Human Resources best practices. The TAS will proactively source, attract, interview, hire, and onboard employees while promoting the company’s brand through various recruitment initiatives and events. The role also involves maintaining employee satisfaction and fostering a positive work environment. As an ambassador of The Arc of the Ozarks, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will build and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders, including persons served, supervisors, families, guardians, co-workers, and professionals from other organizations. The TAS will be responsible for managing applicant sourcing by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, and utilizing various digital media and sourcing channels to attract candidates. This includes hosting and attending career fairs and community activities to promote job opportunities. The TAS will also collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and program objectives, ensuring clear expectations for candidates and interviewers. They will screen applications, conduct interviews, and nurture relationships with applicants and new hires throughout the onboarding process. The role requires exceptional communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, attract, interview, hire, and onboard employees.
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, and employment agencies.
  • Host and attend career fairs and community activities to attract applicants.
  • Manage job postings in ADP and internal communications as directed by hiring managers.
  • Continuously explore new recruiting sources and job boards to grow the candidate pool.
  • Engage in community outreach to advocate for The Arc of the Ozarks.
  • Create and maintain a candidate pipeline by establishing relationships with area schools.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to determine hiring needs and program objectives.
  • Screen applications and interview qualified candidates, forwarding them to management for follow-up.
  • Onboard new hires and ensure all required documents are collected and entered into the HRIS.
  • Conduct new employee orientation in collaboration with the training department.
  • Maintain constant communication with the AD recruiting and retention regarding recruitment and retention issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a human resources or Talent Acquisition Specialist capacity required.
  • Knowledge of human resources administration, including employment classification and training.
  • Proficiency with social media, resume databases, and professional networks.
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and thorough follow-up.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and hiring best practices.
  • Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems.
