About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management (CPMP) plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the full life-cycle recruitment process for assigned business units. This position is designed to enhance the candidate and employee experience while ensuring that recruitment programs align with the organization's business objectives. The specialist will work closely with the HR team and business leaders to develop and implement innovative recruitment, retention, and employer branding strategies. This role requires a strong emphasis on collaboration, communication, and the ability to create tools that educate managers and improve recruitment processes. In this position, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for identifying staffing needs, developing job descriptions, sourcing candidates through various online channels, and screening applicants. The specialist will also maintain records of recruitment materials, create standard processes and training materials, and conduct workshops to assist managers in the hiring process. Additionally, the role involves organizing job fairs and recruitment events, generating recruitment reports, and forecasting annual hiring needs in collaboration with department heads and finance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in recruitment, particularly within a healthcare setting, and will be familiar with applicant tracking systems and social media recruiting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as the specialist will be required to interact with various stakeholders, including candidates, hiring managers, and HR team members. This position may offer hybrid remote work options at the discretion of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR team and managers to promote a culture of innovation and excellence, focusing on the candidate experience.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify and plan staffing needs for assigned business units.
  • Assist in the development of job descriptions to determine selection criteria for candidates.
  • Source candidates through online channels, including social media and professional networks.
  • Screen and recommend qualified candidates to hiring managers for further consideration.
  • Keep records of all materials used for recruitment.
  • Create and document standard processes and procedures, training materials, tools, and guidelines for managers.
  • Conduct interview and recruitment workshops and new hire check-ins.
  • Organize, host, and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build strong candidate pipelines.
  • Generate, analyze, and maintain monthly recruitment reports to identify trends.
  • Periodically review and maintain compensation data.
  • Forecast annual hiring needs in collaboration with department heads and finance for budget planning.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field; or 2 additional years of full-time Human Resources experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years of full-life cycle recruitment experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience creating recruitment dashboards and analytics.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP/PHR/SPHR/TAS credentials or other Human Resources certifications.
  • Five (5) years of full-life cycle recruitment experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with the implementation of recruitment software and application tracking systems.
