About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the recruitment and selection processes within the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This position is responsible for achieving staffing goals, ensuring a high-quality hiring experience for both candidates and hiring managers, and contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The role includes developing recruiting strategies, managing job postings, screening applications, and maintaining the applicant tracking system.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and selection processes for assigned divisions.
• Administer salary offers and ensure compliance with salary administration policies.
• Process personnel and organizational management actions within the Integrated HR-Payroll System.
• Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
• Post job vacancies and screen applications using the NEOGOV system.
• Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with HR team and hiring managers to meet staffing goals.

Requirements

• Demonstrated work experience with recruitment and/or salary administration policies and practices.
• Experience utilizing a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or employee database.
• Proven experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with hiring managers and candidates.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in salary administration within the NC State Government.
• HR experience in North Carolina State Government.
