About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the recruitment efforts for assigned areas of At Home. This role is pivotal in providing the support, knowledge, and tools necessary for successful career placements within the organization. In collaboration with business leaders and Talent Acquisition leadership, the specialist will develop talent acquisition strategies aimed at attracting and hiring top-tier candidates for various functional areas of the business. The position also involves serving as a key liaison within the local community to foster relationships and enhance talent pipeline efforts, ensuring a steady flow of qualified candidates. Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with leaders to establish effective recruiting strategies that support organizational growth. The specialist will develop and execute proactive strategies to identify, source, and recruit high-quality candidates who are the best fit for At Home. This encompasses managing the full recruitment lifecycle, which includes overseeing the interview, selection, and hiring processes. The specialist will consult with multiple business partners on various aspects of recruitment, workforce planning, succession planning, diversity initiatives, retention strategies, and internal sourcing. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is accountable for managing the recruitment lifecycle and acting as a business partner for talent acquisition. This includes coaching and counseling hiring managers on decisions related to hiring, salary negotiations, and effectively representing the At Home brand to potential candidates. The role requires acquiring industry knowledge and competitive market data to proactively influence staffing plans. Additionally, the specialist will provide timely and cost-effective recruitment and screening of qualified candidates, utilizing various sourcing channels such as social media, recruitment marketing, and networking. The position also involves communicating with candidates about career opportunities at At Home, supporting store openings and relocations by recommending talent sources, and managing timelines. The specialist will initiate and maintain relationships with potential candidates for future talent pipelines and document all candidate-related activities to ensure compliance and measure the effectiveness of recruitment tools. Furthermore, the specialist will act as a consultant to hiring managers by identifying and recommending suitable candidates for hire, amending and posting job descriptions, and ensuring that background checks are conducted. Finally, the specialist will follow up with new Store Director hires to ensure their onboarding and training experiences align with the Talent Acquisition brand promise.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with leaders to develop and establish recruiting strategies to support growth.
  • Develop and execute strategies to proactively identify, source, and recruit high-quality ‘best fit' team members for At Home.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle including interview, selection, and hiring processes.
  • Consult with multiple business partners regarding Recruitment, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Diversity, Retention, and internal sourcing.
  • Manage the recruitment lifecycle, coach and counsel for hiring decisions, salary negotiations, and represent the At Home brand externally to candidates.
  • Acquire industry knowledge and competitive market data to drive potential changes to the staffing plan.
  • Provide proactive, timely, cost-effective recruitment and screening of qualified candidates from sourcing through the hiring process.
  • Leverage recruiting tools, social media, recruitment marketing, cold calling, networking, and other sourcing channels to identify potential candidates.
  • Communicate with candidates regarding career opportunities with At Home through recruitment techniques that articulate the team member growth story.
  • Support the opening and relocation of stores by recommending sources for talent and managing timelines.
  • Initiate and foster relationships with potential candidates for future talent pipeline.
  • Document candidate information, sources, screening activities, interviews, offers, and hires for compliance and effectiveness measurement.
  • Act as a consultant to hiring managers by identifying and recommending candidates for hire.
  • Amend and post job descriptions; source applicants, screen resumes, and conduct salary negotiations.
  • Follow up with new Store Director hires to ensure their onboarding and training experiences meet the Talent Acquisition brand promise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent year-for-year experience.
  • 5 years previous experience in exempt-level recruiting, negotiating compensation, and closing deals.
  • Retail field/corporate, restaurant field, or search firm experience is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and strong communication skills.
