About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Louisiana Riverboat Gaming Company LLC is responsible for managing the licensing process for applicants and team members in compliance with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. This role involves daily support for various HR functions, focusing on employment processing and maintaining data integrity within the HRIS system. The specialist will also assist with recruiting efforts and community outreach at job fairs and employment events.

Responsibilities

  • Processes new hires through all pre-employment processes and paperwork.
  • Sets up and assists applicants with license application, answering inquiries regarding the application.
  • Gathers and files completed paperwork, ensuring that all documents are recorded electronically while ensuring data integrity.
  • Enters all new hire information in systems and tracking spreadsheet for recruiters, trainers, and department reviews.
  • Prepares, communicates, and schedules new hires for orientation.
  • Sends confirmation emails and onboarding materials.
  • Prepares and issues Access Badges.
  • Completes onboarding of new hires, including I-9s and tax forms.
  • Handles inquiries from department managers/supervisors regarding team member information.
  • Prepares reports utilizing data from the HRIS system as needed.
  • Issues replacement access badges to employees.
  • Maintains the Human Resources email account.
  • Collaborates with Benefits and Payroll departments to ensure consistent communication of policies to team members.
  • Assists with recruiting and community outreach at job fairs and employment events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; prefer a 2-year associate's degree or certification in Human Resources.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a professional high-volume office.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a human resources or legal department is strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience positively interfacing with external and internal customers.
  • Ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with using Kronos (UGK) Hiring and Workforce software.
  • Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Project management skills considering all aspects of planning, organizing, and coordinating projects with stakeholders.
