About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at BGIS is responsible for managing the recruitment process for various roles within the organization. This includes building a talent network, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring a smooth hiring process. The role emphasizes a strong client focus, continuous improvement in recruitment strategies, and maintaining compliance with employment laws. The specialist will also engage in developing creative approaches to attract quality candidates and manage additional HR projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Builds a talent network within business-specific practitioner communities.
  • Addresses legal and compliance issues related to talent acquisitions.
  • Selects and directly sources, interviews, qualifies, negotiates offers and hires candidates to fill open requisitions.
  • Proactively networks and establishes effective working relationships.
  • Pursue conscious cost-containment efforts in recruiting.
  • Researches new ways of using the Internet for recruitment.
  • Uses social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
  • Maintains a constant and steady focus on the marketplace and reports market intelligence.
  • Adds value during the offer stage by ensuring candidate decision triggers are clearly understood.
  • Takes the lead and is resourceful and persistent in driving solutions to recruiting problems.
  • Demonstrates a strong client focus and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Drives continuous enhancements to candidate site(s).
  • Screens, interviews and manages active candidates.
  • Ensures that BGIS employment value proposition is communicated effectively by providing information on specific job and career advancement opportunities.
  • Tracks candidate workflows, source data, pre-screen information and all other metrics required.
  • Creates Boolean and other complex search strings in both paid web boards and standard search engines.
  • Individually and collaboratively continuously streamlines processes; drives for measurable results.
  • Maintains all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Manages additional HR projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years corporate progressive talent management experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Heavily networked and knowledgeable of leading search practices required.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion required.
  • Some knowledge of multi-state and federal laws/regulations related to employment, such as EEO, ADA, OFCCP, and general HR practices preferred.
  • 2-3 years of HVAC recruiting experience required.
  • Willing to travel (up to 25% annually - career fairs, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated trades experience (electricians, HVAC, refrigeration, critical environment - data centers commissioning etc.).
  • Military/Veteran recruiting experience is a plus.
