About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Bowdoin College is responsible for developing and implementing effective hiring, recruitment, and onboarding strategies across the institution. This role involves providing top-notch recruitment services, partnering with hiring managers, and managing the recruitment lifecycle to ensure a diverse talent pool. The Specialist will also stay informed about relevant policies and best practices to guide hiring teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess staffing needs and formulate effective sourcing and advertising methods to promote diverse talent pools.
• Participate in career fairs and other recruiting activities.
• Collaborate with hiring managers and search committees to identify needs and provide expertise on recruiting strategies.
• Manage 15-30 open requisitions for staff positions, including job postings and applicant pool management.
• Support the development and implementation of recruitment and sourcing strategies in alignment with HR goals.
• Identify improvements in the talent acquisition process to reduce bias and comply with employment law.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years recruiting experience required, with experience in high-volume recruiting preferred.
• Knowledge of employee recruitment processes and procedures.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to utilize data to influence positive change.
• Extensive technical capabilities with HR software such as applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Recruiting certification (SHRM, HCI, AIRS, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with evergreen recruiting.
