About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Midland States Bank is responsible for implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract and select quality candidates. This role involves a variety of tasks including recruiting, interviewing, conducting background checks, and extending job offers. The specialist will ensure a positive candidate experience and act as a consultant to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, focusing on building a diverse talent pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, source and screen candidates, resumes and job applications.
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools and methods.
  • Maintain knowledge of business line performance expectations to execute sourcing plans.
  • Influence the sourcing and hiring of high-quality talent by embedding diversity and inclusion into the process.
  • Source and recruit diverse candidates using various networks and social media.
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships.
  • Identify recruiting trends and needs through internal and external monitoring.
  • Research candidates and positions.
  • Network through industry contacts, associations, and social media.
  • Partner with universities and organizations to ensure inclusive relationships.
  • Gather feedback and deliver professional feedback to candidates.
  • Ensure internal equity when finalizing recommended compensation.
  • Assist hiring managers in utilizing assessment tools and behavioral interviews.
  • Meet with hiring managers to lead intake and calibration meetings.
  • Develop and deliver training on talent acquisition topics to hiring managers.
  • Communicate consistently with Hiring Managers and HR throughout the recruitment life cycle.
  • Work collaboratively in a matrixed organization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in recruitment field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in proactively sourcing and cold-calling candidates.
  • Experience with various sourcing methodologies and social recruiting strategies.
  • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal, counseling, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with external recruiters preferred.
