About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and facilitating the hiring process. This role emphasizes building effective teams through strategic talent acquisition and requires strong administrative skills to track data and applicants throughout the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and develop clear, compelling job descriptions and KRA's.
  • Source candidates through diverse channels, including job boards, social media, hiring events, and networking opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough interviews to evaluate candidates' qualifications and cultural fit within the organization.
  • Present shortlisted candidates to hiring managers for the scheduling of second-round interviews.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with potential candidates for future openings.
  • Provide regular updates to hiring managers on candidate status and key recruitment metrics.
  • Participate in internal recruiting initiatives to promote employee referrals and enhance engagement.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in recruiting to continuously improve our strategies.
  • Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to streamline and manage the recruitment process efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws throughout the recruitment process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a recruiter with a strong grasp of recruitment processes and technical methodologies.
  • At least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in educational or nonprofit settings.
  • Preferred educational background in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficient in evaluating candidates' skills and aligning them with job requirements.
  • Strong ability to assess candidates for cultural fit within the organization.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building strong internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent interviewing skills with the ability to evaluate candidates effectively.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to hiring practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess candidate qualifications and make informed hiring decisions.
