About the position

BEST Logistics Group is seeking a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team in Kernersville, NC. This role is pivotal in supporting our growth by sourcing, identifying, and placing exceptional candidates across various positions within the company. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with the Director of Talent & Human Resources to develop effective recruitment strategies tailored to the specific needs of each role. This includes positions such as account managers, dispatchers, freight brokers, customer service representatives, administrative personnel, diesel technicians, CDL instructors, CDL drivers, and warehouse personnel, among others. The successful candidate will utilize a variety of niche channels, social media platforms, and grassroots recruiting efforts to attract potential talent. Key attributes for success in this role include integrity, a positive attitude, creativity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively with hiring managers. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will manage the entire recruitment process, from pre-screening candidates to conducting on-site interviews, performing reference checks, and extending job offers. Additionally, the role involves updating the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), coordinating background verifications, and managing all follow-up communications with candidates. In this position, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will also prepare and process hiring documentation in collaboration with the Human Resources department and assist with onboarding processes for new associates. Participation in relevant career fairs and professional events to promote the BEST brand and support our growth plan is also a key responsibility. The role may require offering support to the Driver Recruiting department as needed, and the candidate will be expected to continually identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the recruiting strategy at BEST.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with hiring managers to determine recruitment needs and develop a hiring strategy for each role.
  • Identify, attract and source hard-to-find active and passive talent using different niche sites/channels such as LinkedIn and other social media.
  • Prepare job descriptions and manage postings on BEST's career website as well as other relevant posting websites.
  • Manage all aspects of the recruitment process including pre-screening, on-site interviews, reference checks, and offers.
  • Update the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), coordinate background verifications aligned with company processes and manage all follow-up communications.
  • Prepare and process hiring documentation in collaboration with the Human Resources department.
  • Handle associate onboarding processes and assist with driver onboarding tasks on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintain and promote company policies and procedures pertaining to the recruitment process established.
  • Research and participate in the most relevant career fairs, local job fairs and professional events to support the BEST brand and growth plan.
  • Implement brand confidence and retention practices amongst newly recruited talent.
  • Identify new opportunities for key process improvement initiatives that help improve the recruiting strategy at BEST.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years full cycle recruitment experience preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of hiring within the logistics & transportation industry is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Proven track record of sourcing and landing top talent in a competitive market.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must.
  • Should be strategic, dynamic, enthusiastic, and quick to take initiative.
  • Highly motivated, goal driven, result oriented and team player.
