About the position

The Human Resource Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including recruiting, training, benefits administration, and the implementation of human resources policies and practices. The administrator will work closely with departmental managers to identify the skills and competencies required for open positions, ensuring that the recruitment process is efficient and effective. This role is essential in maintaining a high standard of talent acquisition and development within the organization. In addition to recruitment, the Human Resource Administrator will assist the HR Director in conducting background checks for managerial positions and camp counselors. The administrator will be responsible for posting job advertisements across various platforms, including job boards and social media, and will also manage the removal of these advertisements once positions are filled. Communication is key in this role, as the administrator will prepare and send rejection letters or emails to candidates who were not selected for positions. The administrator will collaborate with department heads to ensure that job descriptions are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect any changes in duties or roles. This includes writing new job descriptions for newly created positions. Furthermore, the administrator will track and document compliance with both mandatory and non-mandatory training, ensuring that all employees are up to date with their training requirements. Staying informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and technological advances in human resources is vital for this role. The Human Resource Administrator will perform routine tasks necessary to administer and execute human resource programs, including recruiting, training and development, benefits, and safety. This position may also involve other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic and integral part of the HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Assists the HR Director in conducting background checks for Managers and/or Camp Counselors.
  • Posts job advertisements from job boards and social media platforms (Craigslist, Company Facebook, LinkedIn, Indeed, ADP, Workforce Solutions, etc.).
  • Removes job advertisements from job boards and social media once vacancies have been filled.
  • Prepares and sends rejection letters or emails to non-selected job candidates.
  • Collaborates with department heads to ensure that job descriptions are regularly reviewed and updated as duties change and roles evolve.
  • Ensures that new and accurate job descriptions are written when new positions are created and filled.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, employment law, and technological advances in human resources.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to recruiting, training and development, benefits, and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Associate Degree Required and/or Bachelor degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • Three years of related administrative experience, preferably in human resources.
  • Valid state driver's license and clean MVR.
