About the position

The Talent Advisor, Senior at Blue Shield of California plays a crucial role in the Talent Acquisition team, focusing on recruiting innovative solutions for the Information Technology business unit. This position involves partnering with hiring leaders to identify and recruit technical talent, while also supporting other business units as needed. The role requires a proactive approach to recruitment, ensuring compliance with hiring regulations, and maintaining relationships within the staffing community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the recruiting process in the identification, assessment, and nurturing of external and internal talent using creative, proactive recruitment methods.
  • Develop relationships and elicit clear requirements for positions across several areas of business units/Talent Acquisition functional areas.
  • Counsel hiring managers on hiring procedures and provide coaching on interviewing techniques.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy to source qualified applicants for each assigned open position.
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained in employee files through the hiring process and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Direct a sourcing strategy through colleges, trade schools, community agencies, and other recruiting sources to meet staffing goals.
  • Engage in local staffing/recruiting professional networks and maintain relationships with representatives from other companies.
  • Maintain knowledge of staffing/recruiting best practices, wage and salary laws, and general HR practices.
  • Provide reports identifying key staffing/recruiting metrics.
  • Collaborate with other HR areas to ensure alignment with Blue Shield of California's mission and objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of technical recruitment experience preferred.
  • Proven organizational skills to manage niche skill sets and high volume of requisitions.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, transformative environment with a positive outlook.
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, innovation in technical & sourcing capabilities, and ownership of work.
