About the position

Plymouth Housing is seeking a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in attracting, sourcing, and recruiting diverse talent aligned with our strategic objectives. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will oversee the recruitment process, ensuring fairness, consistency, and adherence to best practices. This role aims to cultivate a positive applicant experience while effectively communicating Plymouth's mission and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and update job descriptions.
  • Post job openings and source potential candidates through various platforms.
  • Screen applications, schedule interviews, and conduct thorough background checks.
  • Extend job offers and maintain clear communication with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Ensure compliance with union contracts and regulatory requirements throughout the hiring process.
  • Support diversity hiring efforts and engage with candidates from a perspective of equity and cultural competency.
  • Proactively source and recommend diverse candidates using various recruiting techniques.
  • Provide ideas and strategies to improve recruitment efficiency and support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Promote inclusivity in recruitment efforts, being sensitive to diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Provide a world-class candidate experience to attract high-quality talent and meet hiring goals.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines while fostering candidate relationships for future opportunities.
  • Train hiring managers on the hiring process, relevant tools, and recruiting software.
  • Utilize recruitment software to manage communication and build a pool of potential applicants.
  • Maintain data integrity in the applicant tracking system and assist in creating reports.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including the use of ATS and social media for talent attraction.
  • Demonstrated ability in creative sourcing techniques and candidate engagement.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of talent acquisition principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effectively interacting with candidates, hiring managers, and team members.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating candidate qualifications and fit.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and applicant tracking systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
  • Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in recruitment.
  • Awareness of current trends and innovations in talent acquisition and sourcing strategies.
