About the position

The Finance Manager position at CBRE involves managing a broad range of complex financial analysis and reporting activities aimed at measuring profitability for various regions, lines of business, or large clients. The position is remote, allowing candidates to work from anywhere in the United States, although preference is given to those in Central, Pacific, or Mountain Time Zones. In this role, the Finance Manager will oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, establish departmental priorities, and ensure that all deadlines are met. The manager will supervise finance staff, providing training and managing job performance. Responsibilities also include reviewing and approving balance sheet account analyses, cash flow statements, and consolidated reporting packs. The Finance Manager will conduct special financial studies and produce a variety of financial reports for senior management, participating in the development of accounting policies and procedures as needed. Additionally, the role may involve acting as a consultant to management on financial policies and managing special projects, including preparing presentations for senior management. The position requires strong leadership skills, as the Finance Manager will provide formal supervision to employees within a specific functional area, approve recommendations for recruitment and promotions, and mentor team members to enhance their competencies. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, ensuring that the finance team aligns with the company's values and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the budgeting process, forecasting process, strategic planning process, and standard management reporting.
  • Establish overall departmental priorities and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Supervise finance staff, including training and managing job performance.
  • Review and approve balance sheet account analysis, statement of cash flows, and supporting schedules.
  • Conduct special financial and business studies as assigned by management.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc financial reports for senior management and planning units.
  • Participate in the research, development, and preparation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Act as a consultant to management on financial policies and applications.
  • Manage special projects and prepare presentations for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a business-related field.
  • Minimum of six years related experience, including at least two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA or MBA preferred, but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SEC reporting is desired depending on the specific finance role.
  • Knowledge of the real estate service industry and terminology is helpful.
