About the position

The Talent Recruitment Operations Associate at Ascend Public Charter Schools plays a crucial role in enhancing the recruitment process for the network's high-performing charter schools. This position is responsible for creating, improving, and maintaining systems and protocols that ensure the recruitment team operates efficiently. The associate will engage in a full-cycle recruitment process, collaborating with various teams to attract and select outstanding candidates. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve tracking systems to ensure an exceptional candidate experience and timely communication.
  • Assist in refining non-instructional interview guidelines, evaluation tools, and assessment procedures.
  • Manage interview scheduling for network and school staff, ensuring a positive experience for all candidates.
  • Create and close out purchase orders through the Ascend finance system (Intacct).
  • Manage the candidate travel booking and reimbursement process.
  • Track and facilitate Ambassador reimbursements.
  • Create referral reports to validate referral bonus payouts.
  • Maintain systems and structures including vacancy trackers and the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the ATS, providing day-to-day support and training.
  • Build and run regular recruiting status reports from the ATS.
  • Support the implementation of a national, regional, and local recruitment strategy.
  • Coordinate with the outreach team on lead and candidate engagement.
  • Represent Ascend at public engagements, networking events, and job fairs, promoting Ascend's mission and design.
  • Manage job postings and maintain sourcing platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Charter school experience or recruiting for a nonprofit organization preferred.
  • Recruitment operations experience preferred.
  • Experience with Excel, data analysis, and data presentation.
  • Experience with CRM and/or ATS database administration.
  • Superb organizational, project management, self-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills.
  • Passion and commitment to urban education and closing the achievement gap.
  • A hunger for feedback and openness to self-improvement.
  • Alignment with the educational philosophy and core beliefs of Ascend.
