About the position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tanker Driver to join our small family-owned business. The primary responsibility of this role is to transport liquid cargo safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills and the ability to handle various types of trailers, with a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate tanker trucks to transport hazmat and non-hazmat bulk liquid cargo to designated locations while adhering to all safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
• Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities transported and any incidents that occur during transit.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or delivery issues.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies at all times.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker and Hazmat endorsement is required.
• Experience operating manual transmission trucks is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience driving Hazmat Cargo is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience driving Tanker Trailers is required.
• Minimum of 3 years truck driving experience is required.
• Ability to load and unload cargo safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to drive overnights as needed - approximately 25 per year.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
