About the position
The Tanker I position at Belcan involves working with tank substations and three-phase pad-mounted transformers. The role focuses on assembling components, making electrical connections, and ensuring the proper functioning of transformers. This is a contract position based in Waukesha, WI, with immediate start availability.
Responsibilities
- Locates and moves tanks, parts, and covers to assembly area.
- Assembles bushings and current transformers to cover or tank as specified.
- Mounts cores and coils in tank and bolts in place.
- Clamps cover in place and makes all electrical connections to bushings.
- Mounts tap changer, switches, current transformers, and vacuum fault interrupters.
- Locates and assembles all accessories, such as oil level gauges, thermometer, pressure-vacuum gauge, pressure relief device, etc. to the tank as specified.
- Checks all lead clearances inside unit and assembles needed spacers and or insulating barriers as required.
- Performs resistance testing on small pad-mounted transformers.
