About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition Platform Engineer (Senior Software Engineer) to join the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition Platform Engineering team. This team is dedicated to delivering enterprise-class platforms and services to stakeholders across the firm, with a strong emphasis on enabling and executing a cloud-native strategy. The mission of this role is to provide stable, secure, and scalable container-based technologies and innovative services that not only meet but exceed customer expectations, while also unlocking the potential of our customers' skills. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise around TKGI/k8s platforms, environments, and emerging services to the Cloud PO / PaaS APO (US), collaborating effectively with team members and partners to gather requirements, develop strategies, create roadmaps, and prioritize backlogs to deliver next-generation hosting environments to our business partners. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the transformation required for TKGI adoption across the enterprise, ensuring alignment with architecture, security, and other key technology frameworks. You will be responsible for evangelizing the opportunities, challenges, and security advantages of integrated cloud services. Additionally, you will develop and implement cloud-based procedures, continuous monitoring, compliance, and cloud asset inventory strategies. Your role will also involve proactively prioritizing, analyzing, and addressing complex problems and incidents to ensure the highest level of environment stability and availability. Utilizing your analytical and problem-solving skills, you will define problems, innovate proactively, provide credible challenges, and translate vision into strategic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Senior Engineer for the highly visible Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition Platform
  • Design, influence, and execute transformation required for TKGI adoption across the enterprise while ensuring alignment with architecture, security, and other key Technology frameworks
  • Evangelize opportunities, challenges, and security advantages of integrated cloud services
  • Develop and implement cloud-based procedures, continuous monitoring, compliance, and cloud asset inventory strategies
  • Proactively prioritize, analyze, and address complex problems and incidents to ensure the highest level of environment stability and availability
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to define problems, proactively innovate, provide credible challenge, and translate vision into strategic solutions

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years working with TKGI/Kubernetes and have a proven track record of building complex infrastructure programmatically through automation and scripting
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, The Twelve-Factor App methodology)
  • 3+ years of experience with building, deploying, and securing cloud platforms and applications
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux
  • 3+ years of experience in scripting (Shell, Python, nodeJS)
  • 3+ years of Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in VMWare, vSphere experience
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppD, New Relic, Elastic, Open Telemetry)
  • Experience in designing and engineering cloud native solutions
  • Experience with modern SDLC practices (Test Driven Development, Trunk Based Development, GitOps)
  • Experience with Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Flux
  • Experience working with service mesh, load balancers, DDI
  • Experience working with cloud security management or governance tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure
