About the position

The TAR Coordinator position at Linde in Gonzales, LA, is a full-time role that requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in plant engineering, turnaround execution, maintenance, and reliability activities. This role is critical in fostering diverse relationships throughout the organization and requires a detailed understanding of equipment and overall plant manufacturing processes. Familiarity with environmental, safety, and health procedures is essential, as is an understanding of function, maintenance, and inspection practices of mechanical, electrical, and analytical equipment, as well as instrumentation and controls systems basics. The TAR Coordinator will report to the Enclave Maintenance Superintendent and will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating designated maintenance activities, including routine maintenance, projects, and turnaround (TAR) activities. The primary objective is to ensure that these activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This position acts as the primary interface for Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering, ensuring the successful completion of maintenance objectives while maintaining the safety and efficiency of service personnel on site. Key responsibilities include leading maintenance and contract resource teams, supporting maintenance execution work processes, assisting in planned and unplanned unit shutdowns, and communicating with facility managers and shift supervisors to clarify work priorities. The TAR Coordinator will also conduct safety meetings, participate in investigations, and implement actions to maintain maximum labor productivity and cost-effectiveness. Financial responsibilities include assisting with budgets, tracking spending, and monitoring productivity and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Maintenance and Contract resource Teams to execute assigned activities and schedules.
  • Support Maintenance execution work process in alignment with business goals and safe, quality, reliable, and competitive maintenance services.
  • Assist in leading execution of planned and unplanned unit shutdowns including job plans and critical path schedule development and tracking and closeout activities.
  • Communicate with Facility Managers and Shift Supervisors to clarify work priorities and communicate the status of routine and shutdown work.
  • Ensure proper completion of inspections and implementation of all environmental, safety, and security requirements.
  • Conduct safety meetings with contractors around key practices and procedures.
  • Participate in investigations as requested.
  • Review the schedule and communicate work scope priorities to the respective workforce both on and off site.
  • Implement appropriate action to maintain maximum labor productivity and cost effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the execution of the milestone schedule - (scoping process, planning, scheduling, and engineering).
  • Work with operations, maintenance, inspection, and other departments to assemble an approved work scope.
  • Determine manpower levels to attain schedule milestones and monitor manpower levels and craft mixes to ensure conformance to the needed activities.
  • Develop and implement a quality assurance strategy for each routine/shutdown activity to ensure reliable equipment upon restart.
  • Assist TAR coordinator field change notice (FCN) process to maintain control of turnaround cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate with prime outside contractors to specify requirements by craft, manpower, and heavy equipment needs.
  • Monitor field progress during routine activities and update or develop new work schedules.
  • Coordinate assigned expense work scope development.
  • Lead/assist in scope development, project estimates, funding requests, and execution management of capital projects that involve replacement and/or upgrade of existing plant and equipment.
  • Assist in the development of contractor strategy.
  • Assist Superintendent and planner with budgets and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
  • Monitor Routine cost and schedule attainment with Maintenance Planner.
