About the position

The Eyecare Advisor at Target Optical plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient service and ensuring high-quality care for customers. This position focuses on creating a welcoming environment for patients, assisting them with their optical needs, and providing detailed information about products and services. The Eyecare Advisor is responsible for managing patient records, processing orders, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment while demonstrating product knowledge and sales skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers promptly upon entry and provides urgent service to satisfy their needs.
• Determines the reason for the customer's visit and explains the shopping process at Target Optical or the necessary paperwork and services in the Doctor's office.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully, consulting with opticians or management when necessary.
• Handles indecisive or difficult customers with patience and courtesy.
• Performs work accurately under time pressure and resolves customer dissatisfaction quickly.
• Demonstrates knowledge of scheduling procedures and operates computer systems effectively.
• Organizes and files patient records efficiently.
• Processes contact lens orders and submits invoices for payment accurately.
• Operates the POS system and collects payments correctly.
• Maintains the store's appearance, ensuring displays are clean and organized.
• Informs management of potential safety opportunities and complies with safety regulations.

Requirements

• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and listening skills with customers and associates.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Interpersonal skills that are friendly, caring, and patient.
• Sales skills and knowledge of store merchandise.
• Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
