About the position

The Optician at Target Optical is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and delivering exceptional guest service in a retail environment. This role focuses on creating a positive shopping experience for customers while ensuring high-quality optical services and products. The Optician will work closely with team members to foster a retail culture that emphasizes guest retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Drives profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture through effective sales skills.
• Develops professional business relationships with other team members.
• Fills ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fits lenses and frames according to optical prescriptions.
• Ensures high quality and timely product manufacturing and fabrication.
• Verifies visual acuity and analyzes prescriptions and lens designs.
• Measures pupillary distances and placements for bifocal, trifocal, and progressive lenses.
• Selects and measures frames for facial contour, eye size, bridge size, and temple length.
• Fits and adjusts eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
• Dispenses contact lenses and quality optical products.

Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent
• ABO Certification
• 2+ years in Retail Optical
• Basic computer skills
• Independent and self-motivated
• Ability to grow sales through effective sales skills
• Enthusiastic and concise communication skills
• Attention to detail.
