About the position
As a Targeting/Cryptocurrency Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring national security by analyzing and tracing illicit financial transactions involving various cryptocurrencies. Your expertise in digital currencies will be essential in supporting investigative programs related to cybercrime, narcotics, and money laundering. You will evaluate data from multiple sources, including social media and the dark web, to identify and track criminal activities, ultimately creating intelligence reports that inform decision-making at various organizational levels.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed cryptocurrency tracing across multiple platforms and blockchains to identify and track illicit financial flows.
- Analyze data from various sources to identify investigative opportunities and intelligence.
- Evaluate Internet information from social media, chats, forums, and other sources to gather relevant data.
- Perform prioritized assessments of data to identify critical information related to illicit activities.
- Create intelligence and investigative reports detailing the steps taken and conclusions drawn from data evaluation.
- Deliver summary results in easily understandable formats, showcasing conclusions and relationships.
- Represent analysis results using tabular, pictorial, or graphical techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, cybersecurity, finance, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years investigative, intelligence, or analysis experience in law enforcement.
- Extensive experience in cryptocurrency tracing, analysis, and blockchain forensics across various digital currencies.
- Expertise with cryptocurrency platforms, blockchain analytics tools, and digital wallets.
- Proficient OSINT skills and experience using cyber intelligence tools to search the Internet and dark web.
- Advanced understanding of methods used by criminals to hide online and conduct illicit business.
