About the position

The Tasting Room Associate at VJB Winery is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality and a positive tasting experience for guests. This role involves promoting wine sales, educating customers about the wines and wine club, and maintaining the cleanliness of the tasting room. The associate will also participate in offsite events and work collaboratively with the team to enhance the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide an educational, fun, and positive tasting experience for all guests and wine club members.
• Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for the VJB brand.
• Educate and recommend the Club Enoteca Wine Club membership to guests.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the tasting room bar, barrel room, and piazza.
• Coordinate and lead group tastings.
• Promote Wellington Cellars to all guests.
• Deliver exceptional hospitality to all guests with a passion for wine.
• Participate in offsite pourings, events, and team meetings.

Requirements

• Outstanding hospitality and customer service skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy; knowledge of AMS software is a plus.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Sales aptitude and understanding of sales components.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Flexible schedule; weekends and some holidays are required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently without supervision.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
• A love of wine, people, and hospitality.

Nice-to-haves

• No direct industry experience is required, but a love of hospitality is essential.
