About the position

As a Tax Accountant Income Tax at Spectrum, you will be integral to the Corporate Tax team, responsible for ensuring timely tax compliance for multiple entities. This role involves preparing tax work papers and returns, reconciling general ledger tax accounts, participating in tax audits, and conducting research projects. You will leverage cutting-edge tax technology to provide financial insights that support business growth and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax work papers and tax returns utilizing tax software.
• Reconcile general ledger tax accounts.
• Participate in tax audits and conduct various research projects.
• Accumulate, analyze, and process financial accounting data to prepare tax returns.
• Ensure timely completion of all tax compliance requirements.
• Maintain tax records accurately and securely.
• Research and resolve notices received from various taxing jurisdictions.
• Process journal entries for the tax department.
• Conduct research on taxability issues and monthly variances in taxes.
• Compile data to effectively defend tax audits.
• Coordinate and communicate with members of the tax and accounting departments.

Requirements

• General ledger accounting experience - 0-4 years
• Tax experience - 0-4 years
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Superior Excel skills
• Ability to analyze and interpret data
• Ability to research technical tax issues
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively perform as part of a team
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems
• Ability to adapt to unexpected or changing conditions
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
