About the position

The Tax Accountant/Sr Tax Accountant position at Dominion Energy involves preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns and payments, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws. The role includes responsibilities such as preparing tax accruals, financial statements, and regulatory filings, as well as assisting with audits and special projects. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility between office and telework.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned federal, state, and/or local tax returns and tax payments in compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Prepare tax accruals in accordance with financial or regulatory reporting requirements.
• Prepare information for financial statements and regulatory filings for management review.
• Assist with drafting responses for internal and external audits of financial statements and tax returns.
• Research basic tax, accounting, or business issues related to assigned entities or projects and prepare tax memorandums.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned.
• Review work of other tax personnel (for Senior Tax Accountant).
• Coordinate special projects, including analyzing tax issues related to acquisitions or new business opportunities (for Senior Tax Accountant).
• Assist in training co-workers and disseminating new information (for Senior Tax Accountant).

Requirements

• At least 3 years of accounting experience or 1 year in public accounting or corporate tax department accounting experience (for Tax Accountant).
• At least 5 years of accounting experience or 4+ years in public accounting or corporate tax department accounting experience (for Senior Tax Accountant).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Tax, or related field.
