About the position

The Tax Accountant position at EY focuses on providing tax guidance, planning, and compliance for various public and private companies, particularly in the real estate sector. The role involves managing teams, delivering quality client services, and maintaining long-term client relationships while cultivating business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax guidance, planning, and compliance for public and private companies including REITs, homebuilders, and private equity firms.
• Perform transactions and basis calculations, and provide audit support for clients.
• Review tax compliance processes for international Real Estate funds and Schedule K-1 tax reporting packages.
• Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
• Deliver quality client services by monitoring progress and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Statistics, Tax or a related field, plus 5 years of post-bachelor's progressive experience; OR Master's degree in a related field plus 4 years of related experience.
• 3 years of real estate pass-through experience in a professional services firm or public accounting firm.
• 4 years of experience with Section 704 (b) and (c) capital account maintenance, US withholding on FDAP, ECI or FIRPTA income, REIT income, and asset testing.
• 4 years of experience with RIA Checkpoint tax research and Microsoft Office suite.
• 1 year of experience with Go System or One Source.
• 1 year of experience reviewing tax returns prepared by junior tax professionals.
• 1 year of experience managing tax compliance engagements.
