About the position

Camping World is seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant to join our team in Bowling Green, KY. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining LP gas licenses and employee certifications across multiple states. You will also research vendor payments to determine if they require reporting on Form 1099, and prepare and submit the 1099 filings to the IRS at year-end. Additionally, you will prepare sales tax returns for various states, which requires a strong ability to work independently on complex tax issues. You will assist in various tax department projects as needed and facilitate effective communication with federal and state authorities to ensure compliance and address any inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain LP gas licenses and employee certifications for multiple states
• Research vendor payments for possible reporting on Form 1099
• Prepare and submit 1099 filing to IRS at year end
• Prepare sales tax returns for multiple states
• Work independently on complex tax issues
• Assist in tax department projects as needed
• Facilitate communication with federal and state authorities

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience with accounting and/or tax compliance
• Experience with multi-state property tax compliance preferred
• Four-year college degree with a major in accounting preferred or equivalent experience
• Experience with Oracle ERP preferred
• Experience with Vertex O series and Vertex Indirect Returns preferred
