About the position

The Tax Accountant at Lancium will play a crucial role in supporting various tax functions including income tax, partnership tax, sales and use tax, and property tax. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess a foundational understanding of tax principles. The role involves collaboration within a dynamic team that values integrity and innovation, contributing to the company's mission of accelerating the energy transition through effective tax management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the income tax, partnership tax, sales and use tax, and property tax functions.
  • Review federal and state income tax returns.
  • Calculate tax provisions for quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Reconcile tax-related accounts on the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide support for tax fixed assets.
  • Prepare and file property tax renditions and related filings.
  • Evaluate property tax appraisals, assessments, and manage tax bills.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly/quarterly sales tax filings.
  • Work with A/P and A/R to ensure accurate tax calculations with vendors and customers.
  • Manage exemption certificates and reporting requirements of data center exemption.
  • Prepare tax accruals, reconcile tax accounts, and prepare reports as required.
  • Maintain entity qualifications and tax calendar for all filings.
  • Assist with vendor management, W-9 forms, and 1099 filings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 3-5 years in tax, accounting, or finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy in tax filings.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage documentation.
  • A positive attitude toward learning and developing new skills in various areas of taxation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
