About the position

As a Tax Accountant at Dexian, you will serve as the primary point of contact for tax inquiries, supporting our clients' tax servicing needs. Your role will involve taking proactive responsibility for resolving client inquiries within established standards, ensuring high-quality responses to prevent case reopenings. You will manage client relationships proactively and contribute to the tax component of service reviews and meetings with clients. Your analytical skills will be essential as you analyze the root causes of recurring issues through regular metric reviews, assisting in the development of programs for service enhancements based on these insights. In addition to client management, you will provide support and guidance on various tax-related matters, including outstanding or expiring tax documentation, relief at source, tax refunds, and tax regulatory reporting. You will continually review operational tax processes to identify areas for enhancement and will be responsible for identifying and escalating tax risks while participating in their resolution. Your role will also involve assisting in client tax account reviews and ad-hoc projects across the wider Tax Operations team. You will coordinate and process information received, assist in preparing information for filing documents, and maintain records related to earnings and profits, foreign taxes paid, parent company stock basis, and audit proceedings. Furthermore, you will assist in preparing income tax provision calculations and maintain awareness of current technical and business developments, researching and analyzing tax issues as they arise, including foreign country tax issues.

Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for tax enquiries to support clients' tax servicing needs.
  • Proactive responsibility for the resolution of client enquiries within published standards.
  • Pro-active management of client relationships.
  • Execute forward thinking to maintain response quality and completeness to prevent case reopening.
  • Contribute to the tax component of service reviews and other meetings with the client.
  • Analyze root-cause of recurring issues through regular review of metrics and assist in developing programs for service enhancements.
  • Provide support and guidance on outstanding/expiring tax documentation, relief at source, tax refunds, and tax regulatory reporting.
  • Continually review operational tax processes to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Identify and escalate tax risks and participate in resolution.
  • Assist in client tax account reviews and ad-hoc projects across the wider Tax Operations team.

  • Assist in preparing income tax provision calculation and review tax provision calculations.
  • Maintain awareness of current technical and business developments and research and analyze tax issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of US Tax experience (FATCA, 871M, withholding)
  • Financial Services/Banking experience (Custody product knowledge a PLUS)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for Data Reconciliation
  • College degree or relevant work experience
  • Client Service experience
  • Alteryx, Visual Basic, or other technical skills a PLUS
  • Familiarity with internal custody systems a PLUS
