About the position

The Tax Accountant position at Aspida Holdings Ltd. is primarily responsible for the preparation of tax accounting in accordance with US GAAP and US STAT, including life insurance tax adjustments. The role involves significant participation in the tax return process, including the review and preparation of federal and state tax returns, assisting with quarterly estimates, and collaborating with tax providers. The position also includes preparing provision to tax return computations, conducting basic tax research, and assisting with special projects related to tax planning. This role requires onsite presence three days a week at the company's headquarters in Durham, NC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and year-end US GAAP and Statutory current provisions and deferred tax accounting.
• Assist with special projects including tax planning.
• Assist in the tax return process including information gathering.
• Work with third-party service providers.
• Perform basic tax research and analysis projects.
• Assist with IRS and state tax examinations and general tax notice responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role.
• Moderate knowledge of tax accounting under ASC 740.
• Basic federal tax compliance skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access applications.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
