About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of tax accounting principles, as well as the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Provide estate planning services and advice to clients regarding asset management.
- Assist with corporate accounting tasks, including accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with clients to develop tax strategies that optimize their financial position.
- Conduct audits of client accounts as necessary to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Maintain organized records of all tax-related documents and correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in tax accounting or public accounting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning, asset management, and corporate accounting practices.
- Familiarity with various accounting software and tools for efficient data management.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work.
