About the position

The Senior Tax Accountant position is a newly created role focused on indirect tax compliance, specifically in property and sales & use tax. This role serves as a point of contact for external firms and collaborates with internal teams to ensure accurate tax treatment and compliance with applicable laws. The position allows the Director to concentrate on higher-level tax matters, such as international tax components and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file indirect tax returns, including sales and use tax, VAT, and GST.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable indirect tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct regular reviews of tax processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist in audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to analyze transactions and ensure accurate tax treatment.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
• Provide guidance and training on indirect tax matters to staff and stakeholders.
• Prepare documentation and reports for management regarding indirect tax positions and risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in indirect tax compliance or accounting.
• Strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations.
