About the position

Remus Haste & Associates, CPAs is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. This role involves preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries, while also managing client engagements and assisting with tax planning and research. The position is available for both senior and entry-level candidates, with responsibilities varying based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare complex individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
• Interface and manage client engagements.
• Review compiled financial statements.
• Assist with tax authorities' examinations, including responses to notices and requests for information.
• Conduct tax planning and research.

Requirements

• Valid Enrolled Agent license or CPA for senior positions.
• Minimum 5 years of tax and public accounting experience for senior positions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong tax review and preparation skills.
• Familiarity with Lacerte or similar tax software.
• Good computer skills, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Programs.
• Proficient in tax research and planning.
• Knowledge of RIA Checkpoint, PPC is helpful.
• Entry-level candidates must hold a BS in Accounting and be CPA exam candidates.

Nice-to-haves

• Passing CPA exam or parts of the exam is a plus.
• 1 year of tax experience for entry-level candidates.
