About the position
The Tax Accountant at Taylor CPA & Associates, PC is responsible for preparing business and individual tax returns, communicating with taxing authorities, and collaborating with a diverse team to provide expert tax and accounting services. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring compliance and accuracy in tax filings.
Responsibilities
- Preparing business and individual tax returns
- Communicating with taxing authorities, writing memos, or attending client meetings
- Collaborating with professionals with diverse skill sets on client matters
- Engaging in regular discussions with colleagues to exchange ideas and feedback
- Attending training sessions to sharpen technical skills
- Assembling tax return packages for client/government filings, including e-filings
- Creating financial and statistical tools and reports for management using spreadsheets
- Managing, organizing, and updating relevant data using database applications
- Maintaining and tracking extended returns and marking returns completed
- Onboarding new clients
- Assisting in updating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents at least once annually
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience with corporate, individual, and partnership taxation
- Minimum three years of experience with CCH Axcess and QuickBooks Software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
