About the position

ManTech is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting & Finance team in Herndon, VA. This hybrid position requires working on-site 2-3 days a week and involves preparing and reviewing various tax returns, assisting in quarterly tax provisions, and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review returns for income tax, personal property tax, sales/use tax, BPOL, gross receipts tax, and other types as needed.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly tax provision.
• Handle internal requests to corporate tax department e-mail.
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Research various tax related issues.
• Prepare internal memoranda when needed.
• Focus on attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Recognizes the importance of document maintenance.

Requirements

• 2 years corporate income tax experience.
• Certified Public Accountant or planning to sit for exam within 1 year of hire date.
• Willingness to dig into account data and examine details.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite products).
• Ability to work effectively with outside service providers and other departments within company.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with PeopleSoft.
• Experience with Thompson Reuters One Source Income Tax (OIT) and One Source Tax Provision (OTP) software.
• Big 4/Public Accounting Firm work experience.
• International tax experience.
