About the position

The Tax Advisory Manager at Amentum will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's tax function by engaging in tax research, planning, and compliance activities. This position is designed for an individual contributor who thrives in a dynamic and diverse environment, focusing on various tax-related projects including M&A, transfer pricing, and special projects. The role requires US Citizenship and involves local remote work with occasional on-site meetings in Herndon or Chantilly, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Perform tax research and assist with tax planning and modeling projects, including research and development tax credit opportunities and indirect/value-added tax structuring.
• Support business development activities by researching tax exemptions available under bilateral defense-type agreements, such as Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA).
• Assist with managing Amentum's global transfer pricing, including strategy/planning, operations, compliance, and risk management.
• Manage and maintain Master File, Local File Templates, benchmarking, and intercompany agreements.
• Assist with tax audits in US federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions, including gathering and validating data for audit requests and drafting audit responses.
• Monitor and analyze federal, state, and foreign legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments.
• Work with and provide tax support to internal stakeholders, including Legal, Business Development, Contracts, and Treasury teams.
• Assist with documenting key tax positions, risks, and intercompany agreements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with a CPA and JD/Masters in a relevant field; or 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree and a CPA; or 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage competing priorities and internal and external deadlines.
• Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail.
