About the position

The Tax Advisory Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing Amentum's tax function by engaging in tax research, planning, and compliance activities. This position is designed for an individual contributor who thrives in a dynamic and diverse environment, focusing on various tax-related projects including M&A, transfer pricing, and special projects. The role requires US Citizenship and involves occasional travel to the Herndon or Chantilly, VA locations for on-site meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform tax research and assist with tax planning and modeling projects, including research and development tax credit opportunities and VAT structuring.
• Support business development activities by researching tax exemptions available under bilateral defense-type agreements.
• Assist with managing Amentum's global transfer pricing, including strategy, operations, compliance, and risk management.
• Manage and maintain Master File, Local File Templates, benchmarking, and intercompany agreements.
• Assist with tax audits in US federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions, including gathering data for audit requests and drafting responses.
• Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments at federal, state, and foreign levels.
• Provide tax support to internal stakeholders, including Legal, Business Development, Contracts, and Treasury teams.
• Document key tax positions, risks, and intercompany agreements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with a CPA and JD/Masters in a relevant field; or 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree and a CPA; or 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail.
• US Citizenship is required.
