About the position

Fox Rothschild LLP is seeking a Taxation and Wealth Planning Paralegal with a minimum of eight years of experience to join their well-established trusts and estates team in San Francisco. This role involves a variety of responsibilities related to tax and estate planning, providing opportunities for significant contributions while enhancing knowledge and skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Calendar management, including tax-related deadlines and client calls/meetings.
• Preparation of Federal and State estate Tax Returns and Federal Gift Tax Returns.
• Estate administration, including preparing and filing probate documents, advising and responding to clients.
• Trust administration, including preparing withdrawal right notices and appointments of successor trustees.
• Preparing trust and estate accountings.
• Drafting simple wills and correspondence.
• Applying for tax identification numbers.
• Preparing and filing deeds and related documents, reviewing deed records.
• Forming entities with Secretary of State office.
• Preparing corporate minutes and maintaining minute books.
• Calculating taxes, tax exemptions, and executor fees.
• Conducting basic research of local and state rules, federal statutes, and IRS authority, providing written or verbal summaries to the supervising attorney.

Requirements

• BA or BS degree strongly preferred.
• Associate's degree or paralegal certificate with eight years of comparable work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with tax preparation software, such as EstateWorks, Gems, and Zane or similar products.
• Supervising experience.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $77,000 to $115,000 based on experience and qualifications.
