About the position

The Tax Associate position at KPMG focuses on providing international tax services to multinational enterprises. The role involves advising clients on cross-border transactions, tax structuring for mergers and acquisitions, and preparing international tax elements for financial statements and tax returns. Associates will work collaboratively within a diverse team, leveraging KPMG's resources and technology to deliver innovative tax solutions while developing their careers through training and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Advise multinational enterprises on tax matters related to cross-border transactions and business decisions.
  • Provide tax structuring advice for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
  • Learn about changes in tax law and advise clients on their impact, providing recommendations to mitigate risks or seize opportunities.
  • Prepare international tax elements of tax provision calculations and U.S. federal income tax returns.
  • Assist audit teams with financial statement audits, considering tax implications from global operations.
  • Prepare deliverables such as tax calculations, slide decks, and memorandums with guidance from team members.
  • Build capabilities in technologies that enhance client service delivery, such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
  • Uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment with integrity and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing or have completed a JD and/or LLM or equivalent program from an accredited institution within the last 12 months.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Interest and exposure to U.S. international and domestic tax law provisions.
  • Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and research skills; proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; adaptable team player.
  • Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have means of transportation.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
