About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Leasing Agent. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting prospective tenants in finding and leasing residential properties. Your exceptional communication and organizational skills will be essential in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth leasing process. As a Leasing Agent, you will conduct property tours for potential tenants, highlighting the features and benefits of each unit, and assist applicants with completing rental applications and necessary paperwork. You will also verify applicant information, including employment, income, and rental history, and coordinate lease signings to ensure all required documents are properly executed. In addition to these responsibilities, you will collect and process rental payments from tenants and respond to inquiries from current and prospective tenants in a timely manner. Maintaining accurate records of leasing activities using property management software is crucial, as is adhering to fair housing regulations and company policies at all times. You will collaborate with the property management team to address tenant concerns or maintenance issues and assist with marketing efforts, including creating listings and promoting available units. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service and a commitment to maintaining a positive living environment for all tenants.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in leasing or property management is preferred

  • Knowledge of fair housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines is a plus
  • Familiarity with property maintenance concepts and procedures
  • Experience working with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) properties is preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and handle sensitive situations professionally
