About the position

The Vice President of Tax-Data Governance, Analytics & Business Intelligence will play a crucial role in the Tax division by designing and implementing data models that support tax compliance and reporting. This position involves collaborating with various teams to enhance data quality and streamline data management processes, ensuring the firm meets its tax obligations efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and governance, with a focus on creating reliable data pipelines for complex tax calculations.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and translating business requirements into long-term solution data models
• Evaluating existing data systems to create a Global Tax data model for the Tax division
• Applying the data governance framework to ensure high data quality and trustworthy data pipelines
• Working closely with business partners and technology leaders to identify areas for data quality improvement
• Building automation and workflows to address data control gaps
• Implementing data strategies and converting logical models into physical data models
• Facilitating resolution of data quality issues across business and technology stakeholders
• Collaborating with data and analytics experts to enhance data system functionality
• Working with Tax engineers on development, testing, and production processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines
• 6+ years of experience in data analysis or related field
• Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, Scala, or C++
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL
• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau
• Experience dealing with structured or unstructured data
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of ownership and drive to manage tasks to completion

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with databases such as Oracle, Sybase IQ, Snowflake, or Hadoop
• Experience with Alteryx
