About the position

The Vice President of Tax-Data Governance, Analytics & Business Intelligence will play a crucial role in the Tax division by designing and implementing data models that enhance the management of Global Tax data. This position requires collaboration with tax compliance, reporting teams, and data engineers to ensure high-quality data governance and effective data management strategies. The role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, ethical, and possess strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and translating business requirements into long-term solution data models.
• Evaluating existing data systems to create a Global Tax data model for the Tax division.
• Implementing the data governance framework to ensure high data quality and a trustworthy data pipeline for tax calculations and reporting obligations.
• Working closely with business partners and technology leaders to identify key areas for data quality improvement.
• Building automation and workflows to address data control gaps.
• Implementing data strategies and converting logical models into physical data models.
• Facilitating resolution of data quality issues across business and technology stakeholders, including external vendors.
• Collaborating with data and analytics experts to enhance functionality in data systems.
• Working with Tax engineers on development, testing, and production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines.
• 6+ years of experience in data analytics or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, Scala, or C++.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau is preferred.
• Experience dealing with structured or unstructured data is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in applying technical knowledge to the Financial Services industry.
• Strong sense of ownership and drive to manage tasks to completion.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with databases such as Oracle, Sybase IQ, Snowflake, or Hadoop.
• Experience with Alteryx.
