About the position

The Tax Director for Real Estate at EisnerAmper is a leadership role focused on expanding the Real Estate Tax practice, particularly in real estate private equity funds. This position involves engaging with complex clients, providing exceptional service, and contributing to thought leadership and technology initiatives. The director will also mentor staff and play a key role in business development while ensuring compliance with evolving tax regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review legislative and administrative updates impacting real estate, REITS, and private equity clients.
  • Provide technical expertise on partnership taxation issues, including allocations, structuring, and transactional analysis.
  • Conduct transactional analysis and tax structuring for real estate asset acquisitions, restructurings, and dispositions.
  • Coordinate with the Transaction Advisory team for real estate transactions.
  • Maintain relationships with real estate law firms to promote EisnerAmper's services.
  • Advise on like-kind exchanges and their tax implications.
  • Provide technical expertise on tax accounting methods applicable to real estate assets.
  • Assist internal teams as a technical resource for tax-related inquiries.
  • Review fund documents and analyze tax consequences of economic agreements.
  • Communicate industry trends to clients and internal teams through content creation.
  • Attend and speak at industry events and respond to media inquiries.
  • Develop training modules and moderate panels for real estate team education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of tax consulting experience, with recent experience within the last two years.
  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certification.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with Real Estate Private Equity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Taxation or relevant field.
  • Experience using GoSystems or CCH Axcess tax software.
